Job description

Are you ready for the next step in your career? And does consultancy appeal to you? But you don't want to end up somewhere lonely on the 10th floor? Then working as a Java Developer at Acorel might be something for you!

Lots of variety and exciting projects!

Acorel is a medium-sized company with around 80 employees. This means that we are big enough to offer you interesting projects and roles, but also small enough to look at which projects and roles actually fit your talents.

We work for a wide range of clients and distinguish ourselves with our focus on Customer Experience. Usually we work with large companies that need to take their first step in their digital transformation. We help them develop IT solutions that help them improve their customer experience. For example, you can think of creating the Canon webshop or ensuring that electric cars can charge at Alliander's charging stations.

If you were to ask a colleague what they like about consultancy work at Acorel, it would be the variety and the career opportunities. It's a lot of puzzling you have to do. You are working with many different techniques, so you can expand your skillset enormously within a short time, but you also have to be able to cope with having to look up a lot of documentation. The thing colleagues like least about the job is explaining something technical to non-technical people. This can sometimes be complicated and frustrating, but it is important in the work as a Development Consultant.

You will be facilitated and stimulated by Acorel

Working for a medium-sized company also has other advantages. We are not a chaotic startup, but we have our affairs in order. We give you clarity about terms of employment, processes and roles/expectations. Everything is transparently described in our personnel domain.

You can also find all activities and training courses on this personnel domain. A lot is organized every year, such as an NLP courses, happiness workshops, padel and or a beer tasting. This is done on a voluntary basis and in smaller groups for more interaction and connection with colleagues.

You will be placed in a larger group of 'like-minded people', people from whom you can immediately learn something and where knowledge sharing is central. Each group has a group manager who is responsible for your development. He or she encourages you to continue to develop yourself and ensures that you are on the right project that meets your individual learning needs. You can also switch groups if your interests change. We have 2 different areas of expertise within the development teams:

- eCommerce

- Integration

The best thing about working at Acorel: the colleagues!

The best thing about Acorel is that you are not just a number and that you are part of the team from day one. We like to ask questions, listen and investigate. Our colleagues have a real interest in people.

The nice thing is that the entrepreneurs are still at the helm of the organisation and you notice that. They are a driving force in stimulating personal entrepreneurship, each with their own style.

The colleagues are also friendly and always ready to help you if you get stuck. The culture is described by colleagues as 'open' and 'informal'. A healthy work-life balance is important to us. The group manager keeps an eye on whether the work is not too much or challenging enough. You decide whether it is more effective to work at home or to show your face at the customer or at the office. No individualistic consultancy culture, but solving problems together and doing a little better every time.

Hopefully this gives you a better picture, but if you have more questions or would like to get acquainted, you can of course also contact us. And if you are immediately enthusiastic, you can of course also apply directly by clicking on the apply button!
